Champions Circle hopes to score top sporting events

The Phoenix Regional Sports Commission is holding its first networking meeting for sports, entertainment and event professionals May 9 at Athletes' Performance Inc. on Arizona State University's Tempe campus.

The group, dubbed the Champions Circle, is comprised of the commission's corporate and civic partners and other parties with links to the sports industry. The group's is to bring top sporting events to the Valley and build the growing industry.

"It's something that the Valley needs," said Sports Commission Executive Director Michael Benson. "Everybody operates in their own silos."

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and is located at 650 Athletes' Place in Tempe.
